ICON Equipment, North America’s leading trench shoring and pilot tube guided auger boring sales and service company has announced that it has formed ICON Tunnel Systems (ITS).

ICON Equipment’s ITS division, led by vice president David Crandall, solidifies ICON’s commitment to providing customers with excellent service and a wide range of pilot tube guided auger boring equipment for soft and hard/stiff ground conditions.

“We are well known throughout the construction industry as a trench shoring equipment manufacturing, rental, sales and service business and have been growing in the microtunneling rental, sales and service business for the past few years,” stated Crandall. “We have reached a crucial point in our microtunneling business where a dedicated tunneling division is required to better serve our customers throughout U.S. and Canada.”

ICON has offered the Bohrtec guided auger boring units for the past few years and has completed a numerous of successful projects with them throughout the United States and Canada.  ITS will now handle the sales, service and rental for the Bohrtec line, which includes a range of pilot tube guided auger boring systems that can install pipe with outside diameters ranging from 4 to 55 in. and drive lengths up to 400 ft. They will also offer sales, service, rentals and engineering services for their slide rail shoring systems, which can be used along with the Bohrtec products on a wide range of tunneling projects.

Since 1982, ICON has steadily grown in technology and expertise to become a full-service trench shoring and pilot tube guided boring company and industry-leader in underground construction projects. ICON has the in-house resources to handle projects of any size in any location across North America and provides a comprehensive line of services that include consulting, design, engineering, manufacturing and distribution, leasing and equipment rentals.
