U.S.-based Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. (ADS), the world’s largest producer of corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, announced plans June 15 to open two new manufacturing facilities in Canada, one in Ontario and one in Quebec, according to Plastemart.com.
Realizing the growth opportunities in Canada, the Central Ontario facility will serve both the agriculture and storm sewer segments of our business while the Quebec will house pipe manufacturing plant and setup similar to the Ontario facility. The two plants will manufacture the full line of single and dual wall corrugated HDPE pipes.
In addition, ADS announced reaching an agreement to acquire the assets of Century Plastics, Inc. of Hayfield, MN. Century manufactures corrugated HDPE plastic pipe used mainly for agricultural drainage systems.
