Vacuum Truck Rentals Announces Promotions, New Hires
Vacuum Truck Rentals, the largest specialty vacuum truck rental house in the United States, has announced several key promotions and new hires.
Mike Suiter assumes the role of vice president of strategic accounts. Suiter has been employed with Vacuum Truck Rentals since 2017. He was responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and sales for our branch location in Michigan while working with national accounts, developing sales programs for used equipment and equipment disposal programs.
As vice president he will be responsible for key accounts for Vacuum Truck Rentals throughout the United States.
Suiter has been in the vacuum truck sales, rental, service, and parts business since 1998. He began his career selling hydraulic tools, vacuum truck parts and supplies, and providing training for confined space entry in the state of Michigan.
Training under industry leaders, Suiter developed a customer-focused approach to problem solving and service to business owners and operators. In 2011, he became a national account representative to some of the country’s largest vacuum truck fleets with a focus on life cycle costing of vacuum trucks, fleet allocation, specification development and training.
Brian Lowry assumed the role of regional operations manager for the southern United States. Lowry has been employed with Vacuum Truck Rentals since 2012.
He began his employment as a service technician in the Mississippi location and was quickly promoted to service manager. Lowery played a critical role increasing service capabilities which led to the creation of the refurb facility, pump shop and paint facility. Later, he was promoted to the Mississippi branch/operations manager position. His work ethic, attention to detail and problem-solving skills continue to help propel Vacuum Truck Rentals.
Prior to joining Vacuum Truck Rentals, Lowery served the country from 1993 to 1997 in the United States Marine Corp. from 1993 to 1997. After leaving the Marine Corp., he went into the automotive repair industry working on Ford Motor Co. vehicles at Watson Quality Ford. In 2010, he achieved the highest level of certification, Ford Senior Master Technician.
Ty Rose assumed the role of regional operations manager for the northern United States. Rose has been employed with Vacuum Truck Rentals for four years.
Rose was responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and sales for the branch locations in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Maryland covering an area in the Northeast from Washington, D.C. to the Canadian border.
Rose started at Vacuum Truck Rentals rebuilding equipment then going into the field running equipment and crews. He was responsible for managing a rental fleet of over 750 vacuum trucks before moving into operations management where he was responsible for managing two dealership facilities and one rental facility.
Vacuum Truck Rentals welcomed Sterling Machell as the new general manager of its East Coast Offices including New Jersey, Maryland, and Massachusetts offices.
He brings 44 years of experience in operations and sales. Before the vacuum truck industry, Machell worked in the mining industry, explosives sales, equipment sales and ran his own business for 15 years. He has been in the vacuum truck industry for the last 12 years before joining Vacuum Truck Rentals.
Keith Veros was promoted to general manager of the Michigan branch office. He previously served as service manager since May 2023 and brings over 15 years of extensive experience in industrial air, sewer cleaning, waste hauling, and pipeline inspection equipment to his new role.
Prior to joining Vacuum Truck Rentals, Veros held positions as a product specialist and territory manager with various organizations across Michigan. Most recently, he served as operations manager for an international pipeline inspection equipment distributor, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and operational prowess.
During his tenure at Vacuum Truck Rentals, Veros has consistently displayed initiative and leadership within the service department, effectively managing a team of mechanics and providing top-notch customer service. His dedication to the industry and commitment to customer satisfaction have earned him respect both in Michigan and across the United States and Canada.
In his new role as general manager, Veros will succeed Suiter and focus on expanding the branch’s inventory of parts and equipment while nurturing existing customer relationships and forging new ones.
Alex Phelps was announced as the new service manager at its Michigan location. With nearly 22 years of experience in fleet management and mechanical expertise, Phelps brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to his new role.
Prior to joining Vacuum Truck Rentals, he served as the lead mechanic for a prominent municipal contractor in Michigan, where he oversaw the servicing, maintenance, and DOT compliance of a large fleet comprising over 100 pieces of rolling stock. His extensive background encompasses both company-owned fleet services and retail automotive service and repair.
As service manager, he will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Vacuum Truck Rentals’ customers receive top-notch service, with rental and sold equipment maintained to the highest operational standards.
Robert Knotts is the new general manager of the West Virginia branch office. Prior to joining Vacuum Truck Rentals, Knotts worked in the equipment service industry for over 20 years.
He started off as a wheeled vehicle mechanic in the United States Army. As he advanced through the ranks holding several different leadership positions while ending his military career as company motor sergeant.
After his service, he took a position as a field service technician with a leading vacuum truck manufacturer. While with this manufacturer, he worked his way up to corporate parts & service manager. from there he moved on to new challenges as an operations manager of a national recognized vacuum equipment dealership specialized in vacuum truck repairs.
Brian Hall is the new service manager at its West Virginia location. He brings nine years of extensive experience in the vacuum truck industry. He served as a service supervisor at a manufacturer for five years and progressed to a product/special project manager designing product upgrades and updates to meet market needs and demands.
