In this special edition of Trenchless Technology, we’re shining a spotlight on the records shattered, outstanding milestones reached, ingenious innovations, and the incredible technical strides made in trenchless projects all across North America!

Each year, our editorial team solicits nominations for the Project of the Year awards via our online nomination form. Nominations are evaluated based on technical advancements, the complexity of the tasks, the milestones they’ve conquered, the spirit of collaboration, and how they’ve advanced the trenchless industry as a whole.

Behind the scenes, we have two committees of trenchless experts (one for Rehabilitation and one for New Installation) that review the nominations and go through two rounds of voting to determine the winning projects. So, get ready to be inspired by the best of the best in trenchless technology!

This year’s project of the year awards include a contender for one of the longest and largest diameter installations of CIPP; the first UV potable water main installation in Canada; an asbestos abatement project; an incredibly complex sewer improvement project; construction of twin parallel force mains using multiple trenchless technologies; a project noted for its value on lessons learned on collaboration between owner, engineer and contractor; and a record length horizontal directional drill for any plastic material pipeline.
