Dubai will host the seventh TRENCHLESS MIDDLE EAST event at the Jumeirah Beach Conference & Exhibition Centre, Dubai, Oct. 10-11.
This is the region’s largest and most prestigious meeting for trenchless technology professionals involved in the business of installing and repairing underground utilities with minimum disruption to the surface.
Trenchless technology is also known colloquially as NDRC (Non disruptive road crossing) in the UAE.
Governments across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) are continuing to invest and implement a vast infrastructure expansion to accommodate one of the world’s rapidly increasing populations.

As a result there are many major and innovative construction projects being planned and already in progress
across the entire region. These projects will require the use of trenchless technology/NDRC in their delivery — a proven, effective and environmentally-friendly method to ensure maximum speed and efficiency, whilst ensuring minimum disruption to the traffic and public during execution of the works.

Some of these projects are:
Abu Dhabi Metro tunnels
Doha Metro project
New Doha International Airport Metro Station
The Riyadh Metro project
The Madinah Metro project
Cairo’s Metro Line 3
Doha Bay Crossing
Port Said tunnel under the Suez Canal
Sharjah Diftah to Shis highway
Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company Strategic Tunneling Enhancement Program (STEP)
Qatar Deep Sewer project
Jeddah Strategic Program
Bahrain Strategic Roads Program

TRENCHLESS MIDDLE EAST 2011 will build on the success of previous events in the region and will draw visitors and delegates from organisations and user groups from the utilities, contractors, central and local government and civil engineering consultants.     The conference — the exhibition is sold out — will include presentations by local and international speakers, thus providing an exciting platform for delegates to learn, debate, share knowledge, benchmark, and network with like minded industry colleagues.
Featured speakers include:

Dr. Dec Downey, Past Chairman, ISTT
      Alan Thompson, Managing Director, ADSSC
Dr.- Ing. Hans-Peter Uffmann, Bohrtec, GmbH, Germany
John Milligan, Business Manager, Vermeer USA
