RJN Group Conducts a Flow Monitoring Program for City of Fort Smith, Ark.

In late fall 2013, RJN Group, Inc. (RJN) began a flow monitoring program for the City of Fort Smith, Arkansas to identify Inflow and Infiltration (I/I).The flow monitoring program consists of RJN installing and maintaining 45 flow meters and nine continuous recording rain gauges across the City. Prior to the installation of the meters, RJN conducted field investigations to verify the suitability of each potential monitoring location.
Data from the rainfall gauges will be used to establish the intensity of rainfall and duration of storm event.The flow meters will gather up-to-date information on average dry- and wet-weather flows and existing hydraulics. Data gathered from the meters will also be used to update the City’s hydraulic model.The program is set to conclude in February.
