PPIC Secures Contract in the Philippines
Maynilad Water Services Inc. has engaged the services of Pressure Pipe Inspection Co. (PPIC) to bring down its water loss level in the West Zone of the Greater Manila area, according to abs-cbnnews.com.
PPIC will train Maynilad engineers in the use of Sahara, a state-of-the-art technology that detects leaks, pockets of trapped gas, and structural defects in main water lines. The new technology enables the inspection of pipes without interrupting water service.
Maynilad said Sahara will help the company intensify its leak detection efforts without affecting water delivery services to its customers.
“We are committed to modernizing our infrastructure while ensuring the safe, reliable delivery of water to our customers,” Maynilad President Rogelio Singson said in a statement released Wednesday.
From 66 percent in 2007, Maynilad said it has brought down its water loss level to 59 percent.
