RELATED: Application of Trenchless in Multilaterally Funded Urban Infrastructure Projects in India
India is demonstrating a healthy growth rate on several parameters due to impact of different government missions. These include Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission(JNNURM), Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small & Medium Towns(UIDSSMT), North Eastern Region Urban Development Programme(NERUDP), Accelerated Urban Water Supply Programme(AUWSP), National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Swachh Bharat Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY), Smart Cities Mission and Make in India.
Most of these missions require subsurface construction activities and at many places, such activities have to be executed in densely populated urban areas or geologically challenging regions. Trenchless technology applications have become one of the most important subsurface construction methodologies for developing, maintaining, and replacing buried infrastructure components. Success of these missions therefore requires proper application of trenchless technology so that new assets are built while the older assets are properly protected at the same time.

For the last one and a half decades of the efforts of IndSTT have helped to establish this technology in the nation and the action have nurtured its growth.
The No-Dig India shows have been instruments of this growth mechanism as they have provided opportunities for scientific discussions, technology promotion, networking and publication of multiple guidelines, both technical as well as commercial. The No-Dig India Show 2016 is aimed at providing inputs to the sector stakeholders for enhancing the productivity, quality and safety.
