Underground Construction Association of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (UCA of SME).

“Artie Silber has had an extraordinary career in public service, and he has made an immeasurable contribution to HMM since joining us in 2010,” said Hatch Mott MacDonald president and CEO Nick DeNichilo.

Silber has more than 40 years of engineering experience. He is a senior vice president of Hatch Mott MacDonald, responsible for the operations of the Northeast Corridor Transportation offices and staff.

Upon his graduation from Stevens Institute of Technology with his engineering degree, Silber worked 28 years for the New Jersey Department of Transportation, rising through the ranks to be the Assistant Commissioner responsible for all planning, engineering, construction, and an annual $1 billion capital program.

Subsequently, he moved to NJ Transit to lead its Capital Program, and eventually became the Assistant Executive Director and Chief of the $9 billion Access to the Region’s Core (ARC) Tunnel Project. During his career he was the Project Manager for many complex bridge and roadway projects, including a 25-mile new interstate highway segment, large unique bridges, and underground structures throughout New Jersey.
