5th Pipeline Technology Conference Set for April 19-20 in Germany
This year, discussions at the 5th Pipeline Technology Conference (April 19-20) will focus on current questions concerning the security of energy supply in Europe as well as on a wide range of new technological developments in regard to oil, gas and water pipelines.
Since the PTC took place for the first time in the frame of the HANNOVER MESSE in 2006 it has established itself as an important event in the global pipeline calendar. The number of international participants was constantly high in the previous years – about 50 percent of participants and speakers are regularly coming from abroad.
This year’s conference is starting with the “World Pipeline Outlook” that gives a comprehensive overview about worldwide pipeline projects and key projects for the European security of energy supply. The largest share in the following technical workshops is taken by the topics integrity, leak detection, risk management and maintenance. This reflects on the one hand the effort to assure an uninterrupted operation of pipelines on the long run and other the other hand the fact that more and more aging pipelines are in need of special attention.
The new workshop “Special Issues” focuses in particular on the transport of CO2 and LNG. During two post-conference seminars on “Underground Gas Storage” and “Technical Safety Management” EITEP provides operators, producers and service companies the opportunity to show their competencies to interested parties.
