3M, which provides advanced infrastructure solutions to the water industry, has announced that J. Fletcher Creamer & Son Inc. (Creamer) is the latest contractor to qualify as an Authorized Applicator of 3M Scotchkote Pipe Renewal Liner 2400.Scotchkote liner 2400 is applied only by authorized applicators. This program helps to ensure consistency in procedures, product application and product performance.
Scotchkote Pipe Liner 2400 is a trenchless solution for lining existing potable water pipes on site. It is a polyurea formulation that can help improve water quality, prevent corrosion and tuberculation, and can provide structural enhancement. Because of its quick cure rate, Scotchkote Pipe Liner 2400 can be inspected by closed circuit television (CCTV) in as little as 10 minutes and be fully cured in 60 minutes.
The product is a trenchless solution applied after pipes are cleaned and dried using a spin cast process that is done in sections, minimizing the excavation, fill, and repaving costs and the disruptions to traffic, businesses and homes associated with pipe replacement. The application process, combined with the quick cure time, means sections can often be cleaned, lined and returned to service in a single day.
“J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. is well qualified to be an Authorized Applicator,” according to 3M Infrastructure business director, Fred Schiller. “A diversified, nationally recognized contractor, they maintain a position as one of the top 400 contractors in the United States.
