W.L. Hailey & Co. Celebrates 80 Years
Construction firm W.L. Hailey & Co. Inc. celebrated its80th anniversary at the Parthenon in Nashville, Tenn, in October.
Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen and Nashville Mayor Bill Purcel were among the400 guests. There are only a handful of companies in the United States that havesurvived 80 years.
Since the company’s founding in 1925, the United States has experienced theGreat Depression, several wars and moved from mule driven carts to computerprogrammed machinery. There have been boom times and tough times with a sloweconomy. Hailey has built many major projects throughout the Eastern UnitedStates and has continued to grow over the years.
Located in Nashville, W.L. Hailey provides multi-faceted, heavy constructionservices with emphasis on major infrastructure projects that include thetreatment and conveyance of water and wastewater. The company employs more than350 managers and craftsmen and is one of the U.S.’ largest environmentalconstruction firms.
