Each year when we gather information from the engineering firms for our Top 50, we ask that they include what types of projects they worked on — from auger boring to utility tunneling. All told, more than 5,600 projects were reported to us by our Top 50 engineering firms for our survey. Here’s the breakdown (with the firm that reported the top number of projects for each):- Auger Boring: 309. URS Corp. reported participating in 80 projects.
- HDD: 1,073, Complete Crossings Inc. reported participating in 470 projects.
- Microtunneling: 181. Jacobs Associates reported participating in 27 projects.
- Pipe Jacking: 250. URS Corp. reported participating in 87 projects.
- Pipe Bursting: 113. Harris & Associates reported participating in 18 projects.
- Pipe Ramming: 484. Brown and Caldwell reported participating in 60 projects.
