Michels’ SVP Tagliapietra Announces Retirement

Ron “Tag” Tagliapietra, senior vice president for
Michels Corp., has retired, effective Jan. 1.Tagliapietra started as a laborer in 1964 working on telecommunications projects. He worked his way up to lead that business unit being named vice president in 1989 of what is now called Michels Communications. Tagliapietra has been actively involved in the Power and Communication Contractors Association (PCCA) for 20 years serving two terms as president and many years on the board of directors. He was named Michels Corp. senior vice president in 2000, most recently overseeing the electric transmission and distribution and wind energy construction operations.
Tagliapietra was reminiscing about working construction in the days before calculators, computers and cell phones. “There have been a lot of changes over the years, but one thing that has not changed is that it takes good people on both sides to get projects built. The friendships I have developed over the last 50 years are something that I will always cherish,” he said.”
Michels Corp. president and CEOP Pat Michels said, “Tag is an icon at Michels and in the utility construction industry. Tag has lived the Michels Core Values for 50 years. We wish Tag and Bonnie all the best in retirement.”
