McKim & Creed Adds Chief Growth Officer in Response to Double-Digit Growth

In response to double-digit growth in the past two years, McKim & Creed Inc. recently added Rick Prosser, PE, as the firm’s new chief growth officer.
“As McKim & Creed continues to expand, it has become apparent that we need someone on our leadership team dedicated to driving sustainable growth throughout the company,” said John T. Lucey, PE, president and CEO of McKim & Creed. According to Lucey, in the last two years McKim & Creed has increased revenue by 33 percent, nearly doubled bookings, and added more than 100 employee-owners throughout its geographic footprint.

Prosser has 22 years of experience in the engineering industry. Most recently he served as a vice president with AECOM, one of the largest engineering firms in the world. He had regional responsibility for financial performance, project delivery, strategic direction, profitable growth and client engagement of a 300-person group within that organization.
“As McKim & Creed’s first-ever chief growth officer, Rick’s responsibilities will include top line growth, profit and loss financial performance, project delivery, strategic direction, performance management, and direct client engagement,” said Lucey. “We are excited to have someone with his experience and expertise guide our continued growth in services, technologies and geographic footprint.”

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2018, McKim & Creed was established as a structural engineering consultancy by Herbert P. McKim, Jr., PE, PLS and Michael W. Creed, PE, Ph.D. Since that time the company has grown to more than 400 employee-owners in 19 offices throughout the United States. The firm ranks 25th on the 2017 Trenchless Technology Top 50 Trenchless Engineering Firms list.
Notable projects include:
• The WaterHub at Emory University in Atlanta, an innovative, award-winning ecological water reclamation treatment facility that uses hydroponic reactors and reciprocating wetlands to repurpose 400,000 gallons wastewater per day for beneficial reuse;
• Briar Chapel, a Triangle-based green community that accounts for 36 percent of green built homes in North Carolina;
• Energy conservation measures at UNC Chapel Hill’s Kenan Laboratory, which involve a new chilled water heat exchanger, an automation control system upfit, modifications to the HVAC system, replacing the air handling units, lab space renovations and a high-flume lab exhaust system; and
• Expansion of the Northwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility in Florida, which enlarges the plant from treating 10 million gallons of water per day (mgd) to 30 mgd, and is the largest single capital project in the county’s history.
