How To Revolutionize your Medium-diameter Fusion with the TracStar® iSeries

The TracStar® 412i and TracStar® 618i are the newest additions to McElroy’s industry-leading fusion machine lineup. Designed to tackle medium-diameter pipe fusion with the same rugged reliability as their larger counterparts, the TracStar 412i and 618i include the same cutting-edge technology and provide a higher level of reliability and accountability on the jobsite.

Like the larger-diameter machines in the TracStar iSeries line, operations for the TracStar 412i and 618i are integrated through the DataLogger®, McElroy’s durable jobsite tablet. With the DataLogger, operators can record all parameters of their fusions, including temperature, time, pressure used, and the GPS location of the joint itself. This feature provides a high level of quality assurance and record-keeping, allowing peace of mind that each joint was fused according to the highest standard.

These new machines also offer significant upgrades from their previous models. The TracStar iSeries is powered by the DataLogger-driven FusionGuide™ Control System. This system offers three different levels of control, from operator-controlled to fully automatic, machine-controlled operations. Guided workflow options make the fusion process more straightforward, with an interface that walks operators through each phase of the operation, beginning with loading and fitting the pipe and carrying all the way through to the fusion itself.

In addition to being a powerful jobsite tool, the FusionGuide™ Control System is also an invaluable teaching resource, bolstering training for new operators and cutting down on the time it takes for fusion technicians to confidently use the machine on their own.

The TracStar 412i and 618i cover HDPE sizes from 4-in. IPS to 18-in. OD (110 mm to 450 mm). Like previous generations of TracStar, the TracStar 412i and 618i can be driven directly to the fusion site and reduces the need for cranes or additional heavy machinery. To further streamline the fusion process, TracStar machines include all necessary electrical equipment and a carriage mounted directly onto the tracked chassis for easy pipe loading and movement.
