Godwin Pumps Supports Irene Relief Efforts

Godwin Pumps, manufacturer of the Dri-Prime automatic self-priming, dry-running pump, continues to support emergency relief efforts throughout the East Coast after Hurricane Irene.
“We fleeted 85 diesel Dri-Prime pumps last week,” said Godwin chief operating officer Grant Salstrom. “This speaks volumes about the commitment of our people and the collaboration between our branches, sales, manufacturing, dispatch, delivery and field mechanics.”
As Irene’s path unfolded throughout the week, Godwin Pumps delivered in excess of 350 Dri-Prime pumps from eight East Coast branches in support of municipal, industrial, and even recreational flood relief applications, including controlling water levels in Citizens Bank Park — home of the Philadelphia Phillies.
“Our goal was keeping our customers above water,” said Salstrom. “So much so that we skipped painting the pumps our signature orange color in an effort to get them where they needed to be before they were needed. I’m sure the Phillies didn’t care if it wasn’t orange, as long as the bullpen stayed dry.”
Godwin also rented dozens of portable diesel generators.
“With so much flooding left to control, our work on Hurricane Irene is not yet complete. However, I am proud of the effort that our team put forth,” said Salstrom.
