Garver

For more than a century, Garver has provided multidisciplined engineering, planning, and environmental services focused on aviation, construction, facilities design, federal projects, survey, transportation, water and wastewater.

In 2023, Garver was again selected as a Top 50 Trenchless Engineering Firm, ranking 15th on the list. Garver’s placement is a testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to implementing customized, high-quality trenchless pipeline construction and rehabilitation methods across a variety of service lines. Garver is a leader in client satisfaction and is consistently rated as one of the top engineering firms to work for.

Because of their substantial cost savings and the reduced disturbance to nearby businesses and residents, trenchless technologies have become popular methods of efficiently inspecting and delivering critical infrastructure projects, from new installations to rehabilitation. All Garver’s major service lines have used trenchless capabilities to successfully deliver projects. These methods have included pipeline rehabilitation, storm culvert construction, sanitary sewer evaluation studies, auger boring, manhole rehabilitation, pipe bursting applications, and more.

Some of Garver’s more notable trenchless contributions from this past year have included: ongoing projects for the San Antonio Water System’s (SAWS) sanitary sewer overflow and reduction program which involved a variety of trenchless rehabilitation techniques; the Atoka raw water pipeline project in Oklahoma which features large diameter micro tunneling applications; and finalized design and construction phase services for a challenging, large diameter stormwater system rehabilitation project at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

Other examples include: a range of augerboring culvert installations and trenchless rehabilitation applications for a variety of highway and airport projects throughout Texas and surrounding states; design of numerous large diameter pipeline rehabilitation projects throughout the western United States, focusing on use of UV-cured CIPP lining technologies; continued use of different no-dig condition assessment techniques for the San Jacinto River Authority in Texas; and extensive sanitary sewer evaluation survey (SSES) and renewable plan services for wastewater systems throughout the South Central region.

Garver is also proud to partner with GE Research and Garney Construction on the groundbreaking U.S. Department of Energy’s ARPA-E REPAIR research and development initiative, which is tasked with the continuing development of PLUTO, a new and minimally invasive robotic system for the trenchless rehabilitation of inservice natural gas pipelines. The innovative PLUTO system, a 2023 Underground Construction Awards winner in the Emerging Technology of the Year category, aims to be a game-changer for spray-applied lining remediation used on gas pipelines, as well as for water, wastewater, and emerging hydrogen energy pipeline applications.
