CIPP Point Repair Success at an Ollie’s in Ohio
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, in Sandusky, Ohio, noticed an issue of water backing up through the floor-drains in the store.
The store management observed routine backups in the same areas and tracked the likely issue to a newly constructed loading ramp. Additionally, there was speculation that an old gate-valve for the sewer was malfunctioning. This valve could be enhancing water back-ups beneath the ramp and influencing the in-store drain problems.
The store was facing the possibility of having to go into a major construction project involving the water build-up under the loading dock, and the drain system in the store. Although the investment to fix the problem was important, even more critical was the inconvenience to customers in-store. As a result, there were disruptions with their ability to ship and receive. The challenge of finding a solution and securing a contractor was on.
What Did Store Management Decide?
The store put out a request for quotes, contacting several area water-management companies. The result was two different options. These included either a tear-out excavation of the loading ramp and store flooring, or a no-dig CIPP trenchless solution.
