U-Mole Holds Open House
November 22, 2011U Mole (part of the Groundforce division of Vp plc) recently held consecutive and highly successful Trenchless Equipment Training and Demonstration Opens Days at its site in Gt. Gransden, Cambridgeshire.
What made these days so successful was that, subsequent to the training and demos, orders for new equipment in excess of £500,000 were placed by visiting companies on the back of viewing the technologies on offer in operational conditions and understanding just how efficient and effective they could be for site works across numerous utility and civil engineering applications.
Ten different companies attended the Demonstration Days with visitors attending from a wide range of industry sectors, including gas, water and electric power companies as well as contracting companies. On show for these visitors was the U Mole range of Impact Moles, Pipebursting systems, Winches, Pipe Coil Trailers and MTS Suction Excavation units all of which could be viewed in operation.
The £500,000 worth of sales resulting from the Demonstration Days included the sale of a new MTS DINO III Mega Twin Fan Suction Excavation unit, mounted on a Mann TGS 33.440 chassis, to civils and utility contractor Pier UK. This makes the company’s fleet of MTS units up to four.
Further to this sales were also made of a 5-t twin capstan winch to a rental company dealing with specialist cabling subcontractors; a Hammerhead 5058 static pipe bursting system to a Norfolk based trenchless contractor; and 10 mixed diameter moles into an electrical contractor. Additional long term rental agreements for MTS equipment was also concluded at the Open Day event.
After attending the demonstration days a further order for multiple 180 Pipe Coil trailers was placed by Clancy Docwra for various projects and applications across southern England.
The two Demonstration Days followed closely on the heals of an intensive two-day training course in trenchless equipment for Ground Force Ireland which included live, hands on demonstrations and use of pipe bursting, winching, vacuum excavation, impact moling and ramming equipment.
Liam Brew, general manager of Ground Force Ireland, attended with not only his sales team but also his mobile support fitter. Brew said: “The two days of training has reinforced our understanding of the specialist trenchless equipment offered by U Mole. This will enable the company to offer educated advice on the wide range of products to current and potential clients in Ireland ensuring they get the right equipment for the job.”
U Mole, a division of Vp plc offers not only vacuum excavation equipment but is also the direct factory distributor for Earth Tool equipment offering the company’s full range of products for trenchless installation and pipeline replacement.
