Ditch Witch
Featuring a 130-hp, Tier 4 engine, the Ditch Witch JT25 HDD offers 27,000 lbs of thrust and pullback, an exclusive rotational drive with 4,000 ft-lbs of torque, and the industry’s quietest mid-size drill operation. It is ideal for installing utility pipe and cables up to 12-in. at lengths up to 500 ft. To improve jobsite efficiency and reduce jobsite expense, the Ditch Witch MR90 mud-recycling system promises versatility on the job. The single, self-contained unit can mix and recycle mud, handle spoils and is the only unit that can be transported full of fluid. The MR90 mud recycling system is equipped to meet the demands of any small to medium-size drill with up to 90-gpm cleaning capability and pullback ratings from 20,000 to 60,000 lbs. The MR90 has a 340-gal first-pass mud tank, and 110-gal clean tank with 3-in. vacuum connections. An optional 300-gal fresh water tank with transfer pump provides additional drilling fluid capacity and high-pressure water for clean-up.
HammerHead Trenchless Equipment
HammerHead Trenchless Equipment’s Same Path gas line slitting technology is a tooling system for replacing natural gas distribution pipe that cannot be replaced by traditional bursting methods. The tooling is designed for use with the HammerHead line of cable winches. HammerHead Same Path tooling is designed to overcome those issues while simultaneously splitting old pipe and installing new pipe. HammerHead Same Path Gas Line Slitting Technology is designed for replacing half-inch to 4-in. natural gas distribution pipe and may also be used to decommission inactive gas lines that will be left in the ground. The unique slitting process follows the existing pipe path, reducing the likelihood of contact with other utilities. Same Path tool string components include expanders, connectors, and slitting tools with replaceable hardened-steel blades, breakaways and beacon housings. Used in conjunction with the HammerHead line of cable winches and Subsite electronics, the tooling’s string design permits virtually trouble-free pullback in PVC, HDPE, MDPE and Aldyl-A pipe and limits torque on new MDPE or HDPE replacement pipe to within approved manufacturer’s standards.
McElroy Mfg.
McElroy has launched a new machine in its flagship TracStar series that offers advanced emissions reduction and automation technologies allowing users to meet today’s toughest regulations in air quality and data logging. The new TracStar 900 Series 2 Automatic features a Cummins US EPA Tier 4/EU Stage IIIB engine that burns ultra-low sulfur diesel making it cleaner burning, quieter running and more efficient than ever before. Fusion functions are controlled automatically with The Coach pendant which also has the ability to upload joint reports to the McElroy DataLogger Vault for safe storage, analysis and validation of pipeline integrity. Engineers made it easy to access the engine for maintenance on the TracStar 900 Series 2 Automatic by redesigning the cowling and rearranging the components under the hood. The machine fuses 12in. IPS to 36-in. OD thermoplastic pipe in accordance with many of the international fusion standards and includes all of the ongoing features of the TracStar machines that have made them so reliable over the years. The all-terrain vehicle features rugged, rubber crawler tracks and is self-propelled via wireless remote control. It is also self-contained with an on-board generator for powering the heater.
