HDPE Clarification

Just wanted to point out some misinformation printed in your September 2008 issue. On page 8, in the paragraph titled “Latest Developments over the Last Five Years,” the last sentence states that “Large diameter electrofusion couplings up to 24 in. (larger are in development).” This seems to be very dated information, as Tega has been successfully manufacturing large OD electrofusion couplers (up to 63 in. in diameter) and branch saddles for several years. Integrity Fusion Products Inc. is the exclusive marketing and distribution partner for Tega electrofusion fittings in the United States. There have been several large diameter electrofusion coupler installations in the United States over the past several years. In addition to providing large OD sizes, the couplers are available in pressure classes ranging from gravity up to 240 psi. In many sizes, Tega can actually manufacture couplers up to 360 psi.

I am sure you will agree that it is important to share with your readers that these products are available in the marketplace. These products will certainly contribute to the growth of HDPE within the marketplace.
