LAN Promotes Two Employees to Vice President

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. (LAN), a planning, engineering and program management firm, has promoted Stephen Gilbreath and Derek St. John to the position of vice president.

Gilbreath, P.E, vice president and team leader, joined LAN in 2000 as a project manager. He has more than 20 years of experience with project management, planning, preliminary and technical design, and quality assurance/quality control and construction management.

As a team leader, he is responsible for a variety of wastewater design and rehabilitation projects for treatment plants, sewers and lift stations. He also manages port and coastal projects including terminal development, dredging and environmental restoration. Gilbreath received his bachelor’s degree in maritime systems engineering from Texas A&M University at Galveston and a master’s degree in ocean engineering from Texas A&M University.



St. John, P.E., vice president and team leader, has 15 years of experience and leads the firm’s stormwater management team specializing in hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) analysis, design and program management.

He has led numerous regional mitigation planning and design efforts for a variety of improvement projects throughout Texas, including drainage system master planning, watershed level H&H studies, flood damage reduction feasibility studies, as well as storm sewer, culvert and basin design. He is recognized as an industry leader in the fast-growing area of 2-dimensional stormwater analysis. St. John received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.
