ICUEE 2015 Auction

The final day of ICUEE 2015 included a benefit auction for Call of Duty Endowment at the ICUEE Demo Stage Presented by Benjamin Media.

Military Veterans and the Industry

ICUEE 2015 brought home the message that military veterans can, and do, serve an important role in the utility construction industry. Oct. 1, the last day of the show, received billing as New Heroes Day to recognize the importance of utility professionals and salute military veterans with a benefit auction and other events.

The ICUEE Benefit Auction, co-sponsored by JJ Kane Auctioneers and Benjamin Media Inc. (Trenchless Technology’s parent company) benefited The Call of Duty Endowment. This national organization supports and funds the highest-impact non-profit groups that prepare veterans for the job market and raises awareness of the value that veterans bring to the workplace.

All told, the auction raised $29,575 for the endowment, which estimates that the funds will translate directly into 42 job placements for veterans.

“We were humbled to be chosen for the auction and were amazed at the enthusiastic and generous support of the ICUEE community and their interest in giving back to those who have served in the military,” said Danny Greene, campaign manager of The Call of Duty Endowment.

Greene relayed instances of ICUEE show participants donating money before the auction when they heard about the effectiveness of the organization in job placement, and of several businesses committing onsite to hire veterans.
