CH2M HILL Recognized by Fortune Magazine
CH2M HILL has again been recognized as one of U.S.’top employers by Fortune magazine. This is the second time in the past threeyears that the firm has appeared on the annual list.
CH2M HILL was selected, in part, due to its competitivecompensation and benefits packages, open and accessible communicationspractices, employee-ownership culture, learning and development opportunitiesand work-life balance programs.
Fortune’s annual ranking of the “100 Best Companies to Work For”is determined through an extensive nomination and application process. To pickthe 100 Best Companies to Work For, the magazine relies on two things:evaluation of the policies and culture of each company and the opinions of thecompany’s own employees. The latter receives more weight, as two-thirds of thescore is based on how randomly selected employees respond to the Great Places toWork Trust Index, a survey measuring the quality of the workplace culture.
“For 60 years, CH2M HILL has worked to distinguish itself, notjust as one of the nation’s leading full-service infrastructure design andproject delivery companies, but also as a respectful, wholesome and nurturingplace to work,” said Ralph Peterson, CH2M HILL chairman, president and CEO.“This recognition is a positive reinforcement of these efforts and the values ofCH2M HILL, and we are extremely proud to be among the nation’s topemployers.”
The survey is sent to a minimum of 350 randomly selected employeesfrom each company and asks about things such as attitudes toward management, jobsatisfaction, and camaraderie. Each company is scored in four areas: credibility(communication to employees), respect (opportunities and benefits), fairness(compensation, diversity) and pride/camaraderie (philanthropy, celebrations). Tobe considered for the award, a company must be at least seven years old withmore than 1,000 U.S. employees.
