Aegion Corp. Awarded $5M CIPP Colorado Contract

Aegion Corp. (Nasdaq Global Select Market: AEGN) has announced that its subsidiary, Insituform Technologies LLC, has been awarded a $5 million contract from the City of Aurora, Colo., for the rehabilitation of more than 200,000 ft of small-diameter sewer pipelines.

Upon completion of the first year’s work, the City will have the option of renewing this contract for up to two additional years. Additional annual contracts are expected to have a total value of $5 million each year.
Larry Catalano, manager of capital projects for the City of Aurora, said, “Three years after our first cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation project, we have rehabilitated more than 600,000 lf of vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer pipe. We continue to find the CIPP process to be a very cost-effective, minimally disruptive way to add new life to the City of Aurora’s aging infrastructure.”

Insituform was awarded the project after being pre-qualified to bid on the project by the City and plans to subcontract sanitary sewer cleaning and inspection services to a disabled veteran-owned small business. In addition, in compliance with Colorado law, a minimum of 80 percent of the operations crew will be Colorado state residents.

Insituform will begin work in June 2012 and expects to complete the project by March 2013.
