Vermeer’s Andringa Named to Iowa Business Hall of Fame

Andringa grew up in a middle-class family with a father, Gary Vermeer, who was a successful inventor and Hall of Fame member after creating one of
Andringa joined her family’s business in 1976 and helped it become a nationally recognized leader in lean manufacturing during the 1990s. She was named co-chief executive with her brother, Robert Vermeer, in 2003 and took sole possession of the title in 2009. Earlier this year, she became the first woman to serve as chair of the National Association of Manufacturers.
