From the Publisher: ICUEE Year!

Every other year the popular ICUEE show takes place at the Louisville, Kentucky, fairgrounds. ICUEE is a massive biennial international construction show that is expected to attract 18,000 attendees who will have the opportunity to visit more than 900 companies. This year’s show is Oct. 3-5. ICUEE is perfectly labeled “The Demo EXPO” as it blends indoor exhibits with outside field demonstrations. Please take a look at the ICUEE preview in this issue to see which trenchless companies will be at this year’s show.

As you consider attending ICUEE, please take note of the “Demo Stage” presented by Benjamin Media and AEM in the indoor exhibit hall. The Demo Stage will feature live presentations from leading construction companies over the course of the show. On the final day of the show — Oct. 5 — the Demo Stage will host an auction for the Call of Duty Endowment from 12 pm to 2 pm. The mission of the Call of Duty Endowment is to help veterans find high-quality careers and employment. There will be online bidding that will start before the show. Be sure to check ICUEE.com for when online bidding begins.

Further Thoughts on Our 25th Anniversary

By now I hope you have had the opportunity to see our really outstanding July issue that featured the 25th anniversary of Trenchless Technology. I was really pleased with the work of our editorial, marketing and graphic design team to assemble this wonderful issue. While we did not have a formal get-together to celebrate our 25th anniversary, we did have our annual company on July 27 and we took the opportunity to mark the anniversary. We met in the interesting Ohio City area of Cleveland for lunch and to tackle a local “escape room” (only one of our four groups successfully unlocked their room!). It was especially nice to “party” with three generations of our family business: my son Rob, who is our company president; his daughter and my granddaughter Meghan, who works in Web and audience development; and myself.

Select readers will have included with there August issue our seventh annual Horizontal Directional Drilling Guide. This publication has really grown as the HDD segment continues its strong performance. The HDD Guide includes a market overview, as well as specs for drill rigs and vacuum excavators, plus case studies.
