Trenchless’ Impact on Today’s Plumbers
Let’s dive into the small diameter trenchless market — this time from the plumber’s perspective.
Trenchless is a growing and exciting market for today’s plumbers to tap into, offering them the opportunity to offer more diverse services to their customers beyond fixing leaks and snaking drains. Now, they provide pipe inspection, cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and pipe bursting and lateral rehab.
To explore this critical and growing market segment, we connected with industry experts and invited them to share their insights. We asked them how the small diameter sector has evolved, why it’s gaining momentum, and what the future holds.
Our plumber’s panel features contractor perspectives, offering valuable insights into these questions and more.

1. Describe the type of business you have and which trenchless technologies you offer.
Ruben Tabion: Our plumbing and drain company features a unique setup that combines both traditional and advanced services. On one side, we handle small repairs and service items, while our parent company focuses on larger plumbing and pipe rehabilitation projects.
Our rehabilitation division specializes in trenchless technologies, offering services such as inversion lining, pull-in-place pipe lining, spray-in-place pipe coating, pipe patching, and pipe bursting. For our cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) services, we utilize various curing methods, including UV light, steam, hot water, and ambient curing, and we are currently testing infrared curing systems.
Dario DeCaro: Our company Simply Service Sewer and Drain is a sewer and drain cleaning / repair company. We offer full sewer liners and spot repair liners. We do liners on sanitary and storm lines where digging is no option or many utilities / big obstacles are in the way of digging sewer.
