Pure Technologies Ltd. Announces Projects

Pure Technologies Ltd., recently announced that its subsidiary, Pure Technologies U.S. Inc., Columbia, Md., has been awarded a contract by the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans to perform leak detection services using its SmartBall leak detection technology. The value of the contract is in excess of 500,000 (CAD). This is the largest SmartBall contract won by Pure to date and follows a smaller successful inspection program completed for the board in January 2008.
In other news, Pure Technologies U.S. Inc. was awarded a contract for up to $2.99 million (USD) by the San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA). The SDCWA contract is for the supply and installation of Pure’s patented SoundPrint AFO fiber-optic acoustic monitoring system as part of the Water Authority’s Aqueduct Protection Program and monitoring services for the installation until September 2011. This is the third such contract awarded by the Water Authority to Pure since November 2005. Upon completion of the installation, which was scheduled for January and February 2009, Pure will be monitoring a total of 48 miles of the Authority’s aqueduct system.
Pure Ltd. also announced that its subsidiary Openaka Inc., Branchburg, N.J., has received the board of commissioners approval for a general engineering services contract with Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Laurel, Md. (WSSC). The contract will have a maximum value of $18 million (USD). The initial term of the WSSC contract will be for three years with an option to extend the contract for a further three years. The maximum value of the work to be executed under the task-based contract will be $3 million per year. The services to be provided under the contract can include inspection, assessment and monitoring of WSSC’s prestressed concrete pipeline infrastructure. Work is scheduled to commence early in 2009, subject to successful negotiation of the contract.
