OBITUARY: David A. Haynes
Long-time Mears Group Inc. employee David A. Haynes, 49, passed away June 27 after suffering a heart attack while whitewater rafting in West Virginia with family members.
Haynes began working with Mears in 1996. For many years he was the point man for HDD operations in Rosebush, Mich. – coordinating supplies, trucking and crew logistics, visiting prospective jobs, estimating and administrating. In that role he came into contact with nearly everyone involved in their company and the industry. Later in his career with Mears Group, he established himself with many of their customers as their go-to person for HDD work and applied his sense of humor to any crisis he seemed to be thrown into and always left a positive image of the company and himself with whomever he had contact.
He is survived by his mother Jane and his wife Paula; sons Scott, Matthew and Nicholas Haynes; stepsons Shawn and Kelsey; stepdaughter Lindsy and three grandchildren.
