Mi-Con Adds to Michels Corp’s Array of Services

Michels Corp. has bolstered its civil and utility construction services by launching its newest division, Mi-Con.

Mi-Con provides customers with efficient, economical solutions to dewatering issues, and performs heavy civil, environmental remediation and governmental work. The division complements Michels’ renowned utility construction, engineering and procurement services, and enables it to offer specialized services, said Mi-Con’s managing director Jim Black.

“Mi-Con demonstrates Michels’ continual evolution to meet customers’ needs,” Black said. “Mi-Con strengthens our pipeline construction services and opens new markets, as well.”

Mi-Con’s dewatering operations will be led by general manager Joe Hockberger and operations manager Mark Wertzberger. The two have amassed 60 years of experience in the dewatering industry and have succeeded on challenging projects of all scopes and sizes.

“Joe and Mark’s real-world experience is invaluable on dewatering projects, which can be demanding,” Black said. “Mi-Con combines Michels’ skills, experience and equipment with proven industry experts.”

In addition to dewatering, Hockberger and Wertzberger both have experience with an array of related services, including bypass pumping, various well drilling methods, slurry trenching and groundwater remediation.

“Mi-Con serves customers’ needs by combining the science and art of dewatering,” Hockberger said. “We deliver dependable solutions through our comprehensive pre-planning and design process as well as our ability to respond quickly to changing conditions in the field.”
Mi-Con’s nationwide services include professional design, installation, operations and management. Its services range from providing equipment and supervision to complete turnkey operations. Emergency services are offered around the clock.
