DCA Hosts 64th Annual Convention in Scottsdale
The Distribution Contractors Association (DCA) held its 64th Annual Convention Feb. 24 to March 1, in Scottsdale, Arizona. The convention brought together industry leaders, contractors and associate members for a week of education, networking and celebration.
Keynote speakers for the Townhall and Business Session included Captain David Murk, U.S. Coast Guard (ret), Senior Director of Pipelines at the American Petroleum Institute. He discussed infrastructure policy and safety. Additionally, Ashley Donnini, CEO of Lola Link Consulting, led a panel on Pipeline/Safety Management Systems. They focused on recent efforts led by industry professionals to increase engagement of the contracting community in Pipeline/Safety Management Systems.
DCA’s Trenchless & HDD Committee Session included an update by Dr. Samuel Ariaratnam on the USDOT Gas Pipeline Committee (GPAC), followed by discussions. They covered topics such as education for engineers, technology best practices, planning and mapping, safety and technology as innovation. Other DCA committee meetings included the Future Leaders Committee, Membership & Engagement Committee, Safety & Risk Management Committee, Workforce Development Committee, Innovation & Technology Committee, and Government Relations Committee.
The annual scholarship auction was a huge success. It raised $580,000, with Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers assisting again.
At the final banquet, the 2025 DCA president was introduced — Dan Carson, Carson Corp. Next up, DCA’s mid-year meeting is July 14-17 at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. Also, the 2026 convention is in Miami, Florida, Feb. 23 – 28.
