Cooper Rentals Expands Canadian Footprint
Ontario-based Cooper Equipment Rentals Ltd. has expanded its footprint in Canada with the acquisition of Star Rentals and Prime Rentals.
Star Rentals is the largest independent equipment rental company in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Established in 1984, Star Rentals services the Metro Vancouver area through its locations in White Rock, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, Burnaby and Maple Ridge.

Over the past several decades, Star Rentals has developed a reputation for reliable, value-added service and has established a loyal base of customers that rely on the company to provide complete equipment rental solutions. Doug Johnson, the president and principal owner of Star Rentals, will assume a senior role with Cooper, and will help manage and grow Cooperās business in British Columbia.

Alberta-based Prime Rentals has two locations in Lethbridge and nearby Taber, Alberta. Prime was established in 1979, and over the past several decades developed a reputation for reliable, value-added service and has established a loyal base of customers that rely on the company to provide complete equipment rental solutions. Kim and Trina Tymko, the owners of Prime, will assist Cooper in ensuring a smooth transition of the acquisition over the next several months.

Cooper specializes in compact equipment and aerial rentals and offers a broad range of construction equipment and supplies. The company operates in excess of 40 rental locations. In 2013 Cooper received a majority investment from SeaFort Capital.
