Contractors Offer Insight into a Positive Lateral Bursting Outcome
April 29, 2026
Pipe bursting is well suited for lateral replacement. It allows for the upsize of the original host pipe diameter.
Easy to use and effective lateral bursting equipment have made the method accessible to everyone from specialty to general contractors. Lateral bursting is done with a small “tugger” winch system that is very portable and doesn’t compromise on power.
It’s also easy to use and requires a minimal crew compliment to operate.
Morgan Contracting, of Knoxville, Tennessee and Claude H. Nix Construction/Jasco Inc., of South Ogden, Utah, discuss a pair of recent pipe bursting projects.
