Avanti Polyurethane Grouts WQA Certified for Use with Potable Water Applications
September 12, 2016
A trio of Avanti International’s polyurethane grouts received certification by the Water Quality Association (WQA) as tested and certified against NSF/ANSI Standard 61 – Drinking Water System Components.
Avanti’s AV-248-LV Flexseal LV, AV-275 Soilgrout and AV-315 Microfoam products are used to stop leaks, stabilize soil, and control groundwater in municipal, industrial, and geotechnical applications.

“These three products join three other Avanti resins earning Potable Water Certification,” says Roger Borremans, Avanti Technical Director. “Engineers now have more choices between hydrophilic and hydrophobic resins for specifying the exact right product in potable water applications.”
The WQA, formed in 1974, is a not-for-profit association for the residential, commercial and industrial water treatment industry. WQA proudly serves as an educator of water treatment professionals, certifier of water treatment products, public information resource and voice of the water quality improvement industry.
The Avanti Products
- AV-248-LV Flexseal LV – Moisture-activated, MDI-based Polyurethane resin that withstands wet/dry cycles to form a resilient, impermeable, and flexible foam. AV-248-LV is designed to seal active and potential water leaks in cracks, annular spaces, pipe penetrations, and above/below grade concrete structure where high flexibility is needed. The chemical reaction of this product is catalyzed by AV-249-LV Flexseal Cat LV.
- AV-275 Soilgrout – Moisture activated, MDI-based Polyurethane resin that withstands wet/dry cycles to form a resilient, impermeable, and rigid foam. AV-275’s low viscosity allows for excellent permeation, binding, and waterproofing of loose, granular soils. AV-275 is used to fill voids, stop high water flows and stabilize soils. The chemical reaction of this product is catalyzed by AV-276 Soilcat.
- AV-315 Microfoam – Single component, moisture activated Polyurethane resin that forms dense, resilient, impermeable closed-cell flexible foam that has good adhesive properties. AV-315 has an extremely low viscosity and is designed for sealing active water leaks in very fine cracks or joints in below-grade structures – basements, vaults, tunnels, mines.
Since 1978, Avanti’s product line has grown from Acrylamide gel to a comprehensive line of cementitious, acrylic, acrylate, hydrophobic, hydrophobic, foam and gel grouts used to stop leaks, stabilize soil and control groundwater – permanently.
