2012 Pumper & Cleaner Show Heads for Indy!

The Super Bowl isn’t the only popular event coming to Indianapolis in 2012. The Pumper and Cleaner Environmental Expo International 2012 will be held in Indianapolis from Monday, Feb. 27 through Thursday, March 1, at the Indiana Convention Center.

Don’t let its name of the show fool you — there’s plenty for the trenchless and environmental services professional to learn from this diverse trade show, including topics in pipeline rehab and repair and utility location, as well sewer cleaning and repairs.

Voted a Gold 100 trade show by Trade Show Executive Magazine, the Pumper and Cleaner Expo brings in around 10,000 professionals from a wide berth of industries to see and learn what’s new from nearly 500 exhibitors. With more than 30 years of experience, this convention primes thousands of professionals to build successful businesses.

After several years in Louisville, Ky., the show changed venues and cities in 2012.  Attendees are invited to stay in one of 14 hotels, 11 of which are connected to the convention center, making travel from hotels to the show a non-issue for most.

The convention starts Monday with what’s aptly named Education Day with nearly 50 educational seminars running from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday are just as informative with nearly 20 presentations on each day. Attendees will earn continuing education units from attending these sessions. Several will be offered in Spanish either exclusively or alongside the English versions.

Tuesday night’s Industry Appreciation Party, held at the JW Marriott Hotel, combines the usual party with the typical Saturday night concert. Country songwriter Rodney Atkins will perform for the evening’s entertainment, and attendees can appreciate the party’s 25-cent beer throughout the night.

Thursday morning’s Roundtable Discussion and Breakfast will put the finishing touches on an eventful four days. A breakfast buffet will be served, after which attendees break out into small groups to touch on important industry issues.

As any city in the Midwest is in late February, Indianapolis will still be dusting off the winter snow, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the downtown area. When you’re not packing your brain with limitless amounts of useful information, Indianapolis has plenty of indoor activities. Let your artsy side wander through multiple installations of all kinds, including the Football Invitational at the National Art Museum of Sport, commemorating fine art depictions of professional to pick-up football. If music is more your speed, Indianapolis is home to myriad of jazz clubs to kick back to some soulful tunes.
