Two Thompson Pump Employees Celebrate 25 Years of Service

Thompson Pump & Mfg. Co. Inc., Port Orange, Fla., recently announced two25-year employee anniversaries. Johnny Britt, Gulf Coast region manager, andBarry Nelder, sales representative, Goldsboro, N.C., have both served ThompsonPump in key positions over the years.

In 1981, Nelder left a fellow competitor to join Thompson Pump as asalesperson. Nelder served as a sales representative in West Palm Beach, Fla.,and the tri-state area of Delmarva for four years, before moving to NorthCarolina in 1985. Nelder received three Salesman of the Year honors in 1990,1995 and 1998 during his 21 years in this location and currently serves morethan 100 customers in his Southeastern North Carolina territory.

Britt began his career with Thompson Pump working in the yard in Florence,Miss., and was quickly promoted to parts clerk, then service mechanic, headmechanic, service manager, operations manager, and then general manager. Asgeneral manager, he earned Branch Manager of the Year honors in 1997. In 2002,Britt was again promoted, this time to Gulf Coast region manager. He currentlyoversees four branch locations in Pensacola and Panama City, Fla., Baton Rouge,La., and Florence, Miss.
