Tune Up for Jammin’4Water at WEFTEC 2016!
August 23, 2016
Mark your calendar! The fourth annual Jammin’4Water will be held Sept. 24 at Generations Hall (310 Andrew Higgins Dr.) in New Orleans.Organized by the Water Charities Fundraising Board and volunteers, this open mic event, first launched in 2013, draws hundreds of musicians, friends, families, sponsors and WEFTEC attendees to literally jam for water each year on the Saturday before WEFTEC.
Musicians donate to charity to secure a stage spot – and the rights to perform and produce their bucket list music before an enthusiastic audience. Some songs are solo; others are true jam sessions with a full band on stage.
“In addition to supporting water charities, the garage band atmosphere excites young and senior WEF professionals alike,” says event organizer Dave Kinnear about previous Jammin’4Water events. “It’s WEF meets Woodstock in a positive groove.”
In 2015, the event drew more than 750 attendees and more than 50 musicians. Thanks to the help of patrons and sponsors, Water Charities Fundraising donated $34,000 to charity. For more info on Jammin’4Water, please visit jammin4water.org.
