“In 2017, Ontario Water Innovation Week will build upon the success of our first year, offering even more opportunities to strengthen global networks, share best practices, and explore innovative solutions for the world’s water challenges,” said Dr. Peter Gallant, WaterTAP president and CEO. “OnWIN is designed in the spirit of WaterTAP’s mandate to connect, accelerate, and celebrate Ontario’s water sector. Together with our partners, we are looking forward to welcoming the world to Ontario and showcasing the fantastic work that happens here.”
The week includes three main events. Hosted by Rethink Events and WaterTAP, the fifth annual World Water-Tech North America Summit (Nov. 2-3) will bring international utilities, technology leaders, entrepreneurs and investors to Toronto to brainstorm new approaches to the most significant challenges facing the global water and wastewater sectors.
The World Water-Tech North America Summit is an annual summit organized by UK-based Rethink Events in partnership with WaterTAP. The summit focuses on accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies by municipalities and utilities to meet future water demand, and brings together 200+ senior industry executives for two days of networking and discussion.
Hosted by WaterTAP, Water Innovation in Action (Nov. 1) is a one-day event the conference brings together key stakeholders in Ontario’s water sector to celebrate innovation and focus on pathways to progressive sector growth.
This year, WaterTAP also welcomes the Ontario Municipal Water Symposium (Oct. 31) to OnWIN. Organized by the Ontario Municipal Water Association, this event is focused on municipal utility challenges and designed to complement Water Innovation in Action and World Water-Tech North America.
“OMWA is thrilled to be hosting our premiere Municipal Water Symposium during OnWIN,” said Ed Houghton, OMWA’s executive director. “It will be a great opportunity for our members.”
The week will also include workshops, tours and networking events.
“It’s fantastic to see OnWIN growing into a must-attend event in the water industry calendar,” says Jennie Moss, managing director of Rethink Events. “For entrepreneurs with solutions in water and wastewater management, this is an unrivalled opportunity to network with water utilities and industrial water leaders from North America and around the globe.”
Early supporters of the week’s events include smart grid leader FATHOM, the Ontario Ministry of International Trade, the Ontario Clean Water Agency and the Southern Ontario Water Consortium.
Early bird registration for all three events is now open at waterinnovationweek.com.
