New Orleans Hosts TRS Show
October 10, 2007
The City of New Orleans welcomed members of the trenchless community when it hosted the Trenchless Road Show Sept. 18-19, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
The Trenchless Road Shows (TRS), organized by Benjamin Media Inc., next heads to Miami Nov. 13-14, for the final program of 2007.
Attendees at the New Orleans TRS included municipal leaders, engineering groups and contractors who chose between two concurrent tracks over the two days. Topics included sewer and water systems (HDD and rehabilitation), cross bores, bypass pumping, laterals, leak detection and manholes.
The keynote speaker was Marcia St. Martin, executive director of the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, who kicked off the TRS on Sept. 18.
Outdoor demonstrations provided attendees an up-close look at some of the latest and most popular techniques and products for the trenchless market. Those conducting outdoor demos were Perma-Liner, Envirosight and Ditch Witch. Between sessions and demonstrations, attendees visited the exhibit hall where more than 30 companies displayed their wares and services and answered questions.
Attendees and exhibitors also networked at the Hospitality Night Reception in the exhibit hall on Sept. 18, where they talked over authentic New Orleans cuisine and drinks.
In addition to the educational sessions, NASSCO presented its PACP and new MACP course, which began on the final day of the Road Show and concluded Sept. 20.
