kwik-ZIP® Spacer and Centraliser Systems: Engineered for Performance and Longevity
Kwik-ZIP® is redefining pipe spacer and centraliser solutions with a range of high-performance, corrosion-resistant systems designed to assist extend pipeline life and improve installation efficiency. Used widely across trenchless technology, civil construction, and pipeline rehabilitation, kwik-ZIP® products are the go-to solution for contractors tackling complex infrastructure challenges.
Proven in the Field: U.S. Infrastructure Projects
Across the United States, kwik-ZIP® spacer systems have played a pivotal role in high-profile infrastructure projects across many different industry sectors, where durability, reliability, and ease of installation are critical. They are also utilised on a daily basis on groundwater projects across many of the States.
- San Fransico’s Millennium Tower:
Back in 2022, Engineers proposed and commenced the installation of 52 new piles along the North and West sides of the 311,000-tonne building to arrest the leaning process. These new piles are just over 76 m deep and reach to the bedrock under the building.
kwik-ZIP spacers were installed into the new piles to help centralise and facilitate the installation process. According to Anthony Lucido – Director of Foundations Operations – Legacy Foundations – the spacers worked well and assisted with the pile installation process.
- Live Sewer re-line (Los Angeles):
Kwik-ZIP spacers were utilized to facilitate the sliplining of new semi-Elliptical FRP liner pipe around curves into an existing concrete semi-elliptical pipe for a sewer replacement project in Los Angeles.
Two different pipe sizes utilised in the project required the use of the two kwik-ZIP models – one of Kwik-Zip’s advantages is the provision of flexibility of solutions which can meet a wide range of project requirements.
- Trans Mountain Pipeline Project – Alberta & British Columbia – Canada
Kwik-ZIP spacers were recently utilised on a specific section of the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion Project in Canada to assist one of the contractors working on the project. The contractor needed to complete an HDD component where two HDD pull-back casing sections needed to be protected at the entry and exit points of the run.
The requirement was to centralize ends of an HDD pullback casing at both the entry and exit points on two specific runs. Due to the existence of a 15-degree slope at each entry and exit point, the contractor was concerned about the potential damage to the casing and engaged kwik-ZIP to provide a specific solution to the scenario they were dealing with.
Kwik-ZIP pride themselves on their ability to provide customised solutions to customers as required, with a focus on ensuring a successful outcome for the project.
Five Reasons Leading Contractors Choose kwik-ZIP®
- Corrosion-Free Performance
Made from a high-performance engineered thermoplastic, kwik-ZIP® products are completely non-metallic, eliminating the risk of corrosion common in steel spacers. This quality is critical in environments involving water, wastewater, or corrosive soils. - Modular and Adaptable Design
Available in multiple series (HDXT, HDX, HD, GT, and 155), kwik-ZIP® spacers can accommodate a wide range of pipe diameters and casing configurations. Various runner heights and bow designs are available to suit job-specific requirements. - Reduced Insertion Forces
Low-friction material properties reduce drag and insertion force, allowing for longer push lengths, smaller equipment requirements, and lower energy use during installation. This enhances jobsite efficiency and safety. - Tool-Free, Fast Assembly
kwik-ZIP® products are engineered for easy installation without the need for specialised tools or highly trained personnel. This tool-free design streamlines operations and lowers labour costs across the board. - Trusted Technical Support
With decades of field experience, the kwik-ZIP® team works closely with clients to recommend the best product for every project. From early-stage design to on-site application, their expert guidance ensures successful outcomes.
Built for Harsh Conditions
The mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and temperature tolerance of kwik-ZIP® spacers make them ideal for demanding projects such as trenchless installations, slip-lining into corrugated casings, and critical infrastructure upgrades.
