ICUEE 2015 Is Ready for Action!

The International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) will hold its 2015 conference Sept. 29-Oct.1 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky. This biennial event — owned and produced by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) — expects draw more than 17,000 attendees, giving them the opportunity to check out the latest in construction equipment, as well as network with the industry’s best.

ICUEE is an important construction event for those involved in the new installation segments of the trenchless industry, such (but not limited to) as horizontal directional drilling, auger boring and microtunneling.

Benjamin Media — parent company to Trenchless Technology and six other construction-related publications — is all in for the 2015 expo serving as sponsor to the event’s indoor Demo Stage (see side bar and schedule), as well as partnering with J.J. Kane Auctioneers to present an auction to benefit our military heroes (see story about the Call to Duty Endowment that helps military veterans find construction-related employment on pg. 34). The auction — held at 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 1 at the Demo Stage — features items available for bid including vacation packages, equipment, tools, and more at a lower price than the retail value. Trenchless companies donating items include HammerHead, Ditch Witch, Digital Control and Vermeer.

ICUEE — also known as The Demo Expo — is the premiere event for utility industry professionals to gain comprehensive insight into the latest technologies, innovations, insights, and trends affecting their industry. More than 850 exhibitors will bring their best construction and utility equipment for attendees (in most cases) to operate hands-on. ICUEE targets utilities providing electric, telecommunications/cable, natural gas, water, and wastewater services, as well as the contractors who provide utilities with infrastructure engineering and construction services.

ICUEE-LEAD-(Cut-2)ICUEE covers more 25 acres of indoor and outdoor exhibits and product demonstrations including, but not limited to: all-terrain carriers, attachments, components, earthmoving, environmental, light, overhead and maintenance, material handling, recycling, safety, testing, transportation, trenching, trenchless, trucks and utility materials/supplies. Machinery is exhibited in job-like conditions and attendees can experience first-hand equipment in action, working at ground level, underground and overhead.

In addition to trying out equipment, ICUEE also offers great educational opportunities through a diverse schedule of presentations aimed at those wishing to understand new technologies and learn safety and regulatory practices. These sessions include underground construction education, as well as NASTT’s Pipe Bursting Short Course.

The new ICUEE Exhibitor Demo Stage will run during show days; exhibitors will offer concentrated 20- to 30-minute educational and interactive segments that highlight the performance or merits of a product/service in actual use or simulated situation. A moderator will host the sessions, introducing each segment and facilitating questions and answers.
