CUIRE Sponsors Pipe Bursting Certification School


The Center for Underground Infrastructure Research andEducation (CUIRE) of Michigan State University is hosting a Pipe BurstingCertification School May 23-24. The school will be held at the Holiday InnExpress on Okemos, Mich., approximately an hour from the Detroit airport.

Co-sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers, ASCE TIPS &PINS Committee and TT Technologies Inc., the school is designed for publicofficials, inspectors, utility company personnel, engineers, designers andothers involved with construction and managing underground utilities.Contractors are also encouraged to attend. Participation in the school (in itsentirety) qualifies for 16 Professional Development Hours of continuingeducation credit. PDH certificates will be awarded at the conclusion of theschool; CEU certificates will be mailed shortly afterward. Upon successfulcompletion, a wallet-size certification will also be issued, which is valid forthree years.

The registration fee for both days is $695. Included in theregistration is complimentary lunch and refreshments, a copy of the new bookTrenchless Technology: Pipeline and Utility Design, Construction andRenewal, published by McGraw-Hill, a CD of the school’s presentations, acourse manual, a complimentary bag/briefcase, the wallet-size certification andCEU’s and PDH’s.
