ADS Expands North American Operations
Advanced Drainage Systems Inc. (ADS) is bringing its industry-leading HDPEdrainage pipe technology to New Jersey.
On Aug. 22, the worldwide leading manufacturer of smooth interior corrugatedhigh-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) broke ground for its newestmulti-million-dollar manufacturing plant and its first in New Jersey. ADSalready has 35 facilities and 3,800 employees nationwide.
Located on 32 acres in Logan Township in Gloucester County, the new 68,000-sqft, $12 million plant will expand the services of this Ohio-based company to theEastern United States storm water drainage market.

Brigandi, who serves as the liaison to Economic Development, noted thatGloucester County has been ranked in the top 10 percent in the country for jobgrowth for the past three consecutive years.
“ADS has experienced rapid growth throughout the United States,” says JosephA. Chlapaty, president and CEO of ADS.
“This plant is part of our national expansion program to better service thedrainage needs of the New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland andWashington, D.C. infrastructure markets. By manufacturing pipe as close to ourcustomers as possible, it significantly reduces the time and cost of delivery,”he explains.
After evaluating sites in urban Delaware and Pennsylvania, ADS chose therural/suburban Logan Township area.
ADS’s creation of new manufacturing jobs in New Jersey is in contrast withthe state’s loss of more than 100,000 such jobs over the last five years.Advanced Drainage Systems, a privately owned company, was founded in 1966 and isheadquartered in Hilliard, Ohio.
ADS is a worldwide producer of HDPE corrugated plastic pipe. It serves thestorm water drainage industry through a global network of more than 40 domesticand international manufacturing plants and more than 30 distributioncenters.
