2.6 Million-Lb Auger Machine Unveiled

Barbco Inc. recently unveiled its latest Extreme Auger Boring Machine — Model 72/84-2.6MXHD — at a recent industry trade show and also introduced the folks who purchased the mammoth machine to the media.
Strack Inc., Fairburn, Ga., recently purchased the machine, described by Barbco officials to be “the largest and most powerful auger boring machine known to be made by a manufacturer in the history of the trenchless technology industry.”
This extreme machine is equipped with a 350-hp diesel engine and a load-sensing hydraulic pump that produces a maximum of 2.6 million lbs of thrust, as well as more than 300,000 ft-lbs of torque. The machine was designed for up to 84-in. casing bores.
