Publisher’s Message – Congratulations to the 2025 Trenchless Technology Projects of the Year Winners!

Each October, we get excited to put together our Projects of the Year issue. It’s our chance to celebrate the milestones, breakthroughs, and creative solutions shaping trenchless work across North America. But it’s more than just recognition, these projects are real-world examples of what’s possible with trenchless technologies. We hope they inspire you, spark new ideas, and encourage you to keep pushing the boundaries in your own projects.
As you read through the Projects of the Year awards, you’ll note that collaboration is a common thread running through this year’s winners. The Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) new installation project united contractors, engineers, and utility partners to deliver one of the largest underground transmission lines in North America, overcoming complex river crossings and regulatory hurdles together. In Los Angeles, the North Outfall Sewer (NOS) Unit 10 rehabilitation showed the power of teamwork as contractors, suppliers, and city officials worked in unison to restore a century-old sewer while minimizing disruption in a busy urban corridor. For our readers, these stories are a reminder that collaboration is an essential part of delivering a successful project.
If you’re curious about the awards process, it begins with nominations from the industry. From there, projects are evaluated on technical advancement, complexity, milestones achieved, collaboration, and their contribution to advancing the trenchless industry. To ensure credibility, a dedicated committee of industry stakeholders reviews all New Installation submissions, while a separate panel evaluates Rehabilitation entries.
Be sure to check out Trenchless Technology’s Projects of the Year track at the 2026 No-Dig Show, March 29 – April 2 in Palm Springs (nodigshow.com). Our editors will host a panel with representatives from the winning projects, sharing an inside look at both the rehabilitation and new installation winners.
