PipeSense Celebrates Anniversary, Continues Expansion Strategy
Two years after its establishment, pipeline services provider PipeSense is celebrating progress made in raising integrity and maintenance standards across industries.
Delivering technology solutions for pipeline leak detection and monitoring since late 2023, PipeSense provides operators with peace of mind. They do this by proactively detecting pipeline anomalies, leaks, obstructions, and stuck pigs for systems across America. The Houston-based company has raised the caliber of pipeline maintenance support for Fortune 500 companies. It has also done so for blue-chip companies within the oil and gas and utilities industries.
This year has seen the completion of several new applications, including addressing common oil and gas midstream challenges. These projects have helped PipeSense further demonstrate how its pressure testing solution, PipeTest, obstruction location solution, PipeScan, and leak detection technology, PipeGuard, can benefit operations.
Demonstrating its growing presence in the market, PipeSense continues its expansion strategy with several new appointments. Reinforcing operational and technical capabilities, positions include Joseph Ma as senior data scientist, Li Gao as chief scientific advisor, and David Green as project manager. Meanwhile, Larry Sims has joined as business development manager for the south and southeast regions. This move is intended to bolster the existing development team.
These latest appointments maintain PipeSense’s impressive growth rate over the past 12 months. This follows an earlier announcement of previous appointments to double the size of its team this year. Joining their preceding colleagues, new team members will aim to diversify PipeSense solutions into new regions. They will also work to develop additional complementary technologies.
PipeSense also announced that Ding Ding Chen, chief data scientist, has been recognized as the inaugural recipient of the company’s R.I.S.E. Award. This award is an annual honor presented to the team member who best exemplifies PipeSense’s core values. Chen’s leadership in advancing PipeSense’s data analytics and machine learning capabilities has been pivotal. It has played a crucial role in shaping the company’s industry-leading leak detection and monitoring solutions.
PipeSense, Charps Featured on PBS Series
Coinciding with its second anniversary, PipeSense has featured in a forthcoming episode of “All Access with Andy Garcia,” alongside parent company Charps, the full-service pipeline integrity firm. The PBS series explores the leaders and organizations that are shaping various industries globally. Charps and PipeSense demonstrate the methods and technologies safeguarding the future of America’s pipeline networks.
Premiering the episode, PipeSense and Charps hosted an exclusive client appreciation event on Oct. 30. During the event, the leadership teams of both companies reflected on the past two years and thanked key supporters. They also shared details of ambitious plans for the future.
“It’s great to celebrate our second anniversary alongside the wider Charps team and our clients and supporters. It’s important to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished so far. While we are proud of everything we have achieved to date, we recognize that there is no time to slow down,” says Stuart Mitchell, PipeSense president and CTO. “PipeSense was established to end false positives and raise the standards for pipeline maintenance and integrity. We’ve made a promising start, particularly in the U.S., but we’re an ambitious company, and we know the work is only getting started. Thankfully, we believe we have the technology and people to execute our goals.”
