NASSCO, ISTT Sign Agreement to Offer NASSCO’s ITCP Globally

NASSCO and the International Society of Trenchless Technology leaders sign an agreement regarding NASSCO’s Inspector Training Certification Program. The agreement allows ISTT to coordinate the training of NASSCO’s ITCP in designated countries around the world.

Sheila Joy, NASSCO executive director, and Trevor Gosatti, ISTT executive director, signed the agreement on Oct. 30. The signing took place at the 2025 No-Dig North & ISTT International No-Dig Show in Vancouver, British Columbia.

“This is an exciting chapter in the life of ITCP,” says Joy. “Our partnership with ISTT helps us achieve our mission: To set standards for the proper assessment, maintenance, and rehabilitation of underground infrastructure and to assure the continued acceptance and growth of trenchless technology, and aligns beautifully with ISTT’s mission to advance the science and practice of trenchless technology globally. Making ITCP courses available in other countries, in multiple languages, will bring together common standards for the proper inspection of CIPP, manhole rehabilitation, and other technologies.”

Since the inception of ITCP, NASSCO has offered separate inspector training courses. One course in the proper inspection of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP). The other on the topic of manhole rehabilitation. Recognizing some redundancy in the two courses, in 2026 NASSCO will blend the curriculum into one comprehensive course. This will allow NASSCO to expand knowledge by including modules on other technologies including grouting and pressure pipe rehabilitation.

ISTT will leverage its international network to assist NASSCO in promoting the ITCP products to a global audience.

“The ISTT is extremely happy to have partnered with NASSCO and have the opportunity to take their excellent products to many locations around the world to benefit trenchless technology,” says Gosatti. “Many thanks to Sheila Joy for her assistance in making this great partnership happen.”
