Grant Whittle Joins TCI Carbon Fibre Technologies
Mississauga, Ontario-based TCI Carbon Fibre Technologies Inc. is eyeing growth into the U.S. market. To accomplish this, Grant Whittle joins the TCI team.
Whittle is a longtime presence in the trenchless rehabilitation sector. He joins the company as USA director of technical sales and business development.
“I am pleased to be working with TCI Carbon Fibre Technologies. Their successful projects in Canada have been impressive, as presented in several conference papers with the associated engineering and construction teams,” says Whittle. “TCI’s references are impeccable. Their contractor partnerships have been strategic and quality minded. I am pleased to associate myself with such an accomplished team.”
TCI engineers and manufacturers a range of carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) products, thermoset epoxy products and techniques. The products cover the construction, repair and rehabilitation of vital infrastructure.
To-date the company’s focus was on Canada. With the addition of Whittle, it hopes to replicate the success across the United States. In planning this growth, it focused on building domestic supply chains alleviating concerns regarding the current tariff environment.
TCI’s focus is delivering proven, technically advanced solutions and establishing a permanent footprint in the U.S. infrastructure market. TCI has the necessary design support expertise for the most complex of custom carbon-fiber design needs.
Whittle’s Responsibilities
Among Whittle’s responsibilities, he will lead outreach to utilities and consultants for a series of lunch and learn educational opportunities.
Whittle will be actively assisting with design and construction risk management strategies during pre-design consultations.
“Many of you can expect to hear from me as I will proactively apply for pre-qualification for future projects,” Whittle says. “We also look forward to speaking with preferred, quality-minded construction partners who have successfully delivered solutions for the most complex water infrastructure challenges. References are always appreciated. While the carbon-fiber installation process is not particularly complex – and TCI’s experts can readily train and support existing personnel – the broader complexities of large-scale project management require significant expertise.”
